September 11, 2003 – Valador Selected to Support Return to Flight Task Group
Herndon, VA, September 11, 2003 — Valador has been awarded a competed GSA Task Order to support the Return to Flight Task Group. NASA established this group to conduct an independent assessment of the agency’s actions to implement the recommendations of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board
Under this task order, Valador will provide subject matter experts in the areas of analyses, testing and inspection, modeling and simulation as well as professional services.
Valador will host and develop a public web site (http://www.returntoflight.org), which will provide information on the Task Group activities.
Valador will also manage general support services, including organizational process development, multimedia and administrative services for the Task Group.
Earlier this year, Valador was selected to support the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB). Valador provided technical experts in hypersonic aerothermodynamics, Space Shuttle systems, Space Shuttle history, space policy, orbital dynamics, micrometeoroid and orbital debris (MMOD), sensor reconstruction and analysis, modeling and simulation, trajectory visualization, ceramics analysis, materials analysis, material and structural forensics, and corrosion. Within 5 days, Valador established the operational infrastructure required to support the CAIB activities. “Valador is honored to address NASA’s return-to-flight efforts,” said Kevin Mabie, CEO, Valador, Inc., “and we will bring the RTF the same quality of technical, management, organizational, and administrative support as provided to the CAIB.”
