June 3, 2004 – Valador Honored with Enterprising Veteran Award
Herndon, VA, June 3 , 2004 — Valador, Inc., an Information Architecture company, received the Department of Veterans Affairs 2003 Enterprising Veteran Award for its support of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board and the development of two web sites that expand awareness of the Federal Veterans Entrepreneurship program.
Last year, Valador developed the VetBiz Vendor Information Pages web site (http://vip.vetbiz.gov), which is recognized by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy as the premier source for locating businesses owned by veterans and service-disabled veterans. Valador also developed the VA’s new Assistance Program Pages – a one-stop shopping vehicle for new and established business owners who need information about management, technical, financial or procurement assistance.
Throughout 2003, Valador provided end-to-end support for the Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB). Valador provided technical experts in hypersonic aerothermodynamics, Space Shuttle systems, Space Shuttle history, space policy, orbital dynamics, micrometeoroid and orbital debris (MMOD), sensor reconstruction and analysis, modeling and simulation, trajectory visualization, ceramics analysis, materials analysis, material and structural forensics, and corrosion. Valador also established the CAIB public website, managed all public inputs, established the Congressional liaison office, produced all public meetings and press conferences, and provided technical writing and graphic arts support including the publication of the final CAIB report.
The award will be presented on June 14 at the Third Annual Champions of Veterans Enterprise program in Washington, DC. Awards will be presented in the following leadership categories: Federal Sector, Support Sector, Individual Achievement and the Vendor Information pages facility as well as individual awards.
