Washington, DC – September 26, 2007 -- Valador has been awarded a new contract to provide vulnerability assessment and penetration testing support for the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Interior (DOI). Valador is tasked with conducting two assessments of DOI offline bureau/office systems to determine if adequate information security is in place. DOI is the nation’s principal conservation agency, whose mission is to protect America's treasures for future generations, provide access to our nation's natural and cultural heritage, offer recreation opportunities, honor our trust responsibilities to American Indians and Alaska Natives and our responsibilities to island communities, conduct scientific research, provide wise stewardship of energy and mineral resources, foster sound use of land and water resources, and conserve and protect fish and wildlife. DOI leverages information technology (IT) resources to accomplish its important mission, often handling information that is private or sensitive. DOI has asked Valador to assist in ensuring the protection of its information and the IT systems on which it resides.
