Valador Talks Game Technology at NASAGA 2007
Atlanta, Georgia - October 13, 2007 -- Valador presented the Distributed Observer Network (DON) at the North American Simulation and Gaming Association conference (NASAGA) in Atlanta. Educators and training specialists interested in how games can be used to effectively communicate ideas, share knowledge, and facilitate team building experiences were in attendance at the Echo Eleven facility. Attendees discussed the technologies behind the Distributed Observer Network and their application in domains beyond engineering and simulation.
Developed by Valador and NASA, the DON is a collaborative engineering tool that leverages technologies found in modern game engines such as real-time 3D rendering, massive multi-user network connectivity, text chatting, and Voice Over-IP (VOIP). Games provide a framework for modeling the world, engaging in low risk simulations of real world scenarios as well as constructing environments for team building and knowledge dissemination. The DON has won a NASA Software Award and is being submitted for the NASA 2008 Software of the Year award and the 2008 Japan Prize for Information Communication Theory and Technology.
