NAVAIR awards E-2 Support
Contract to Bearing Point Team.
Herndon, VA, January 6, 2003 -- The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft pision (NAWCAD) has awarded BearingPoint a $123 million (maximum order amount) multiple-award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide engineering and program management services for the Navy’s E-2C Hawkeye (http://force.navair.navy.mil/e2.htm) and C-2A Greyhound (http://force.navair.navy.mil/c2.htm) aircraft. The contract, which includes one base year and four option years, calls for the BearingPoint Team to provide support to NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD, and to other Navy commands throughout the U.S. Valador is a subcontractor on the BearingPoint Team which was awarded one of the two awards, the other going to the former incumbent, Veridian.
The E-2C remains the Navy’s premier Airborne Early Warning aircraft, and the C-2A is the Navy’s Carrier On-board Delivery aircraft. The E-2C aircraft supports the Navy’s global C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) architecture and provides battle space surveillance and targeting for the Joint Forces Commander.
Valador, as part of the BearingPoint Team will offer NAWCAD services including: program management, requirements analyses, foreign military sales support, software documentation review and analysis, system technical and analytical support, acceptance test planning, training support, and tactical mission support.
