Valador's Joe Fragola Awarded NASA Public Service Medal
Herndon, VA, July 1, 2006 -- Joe Fragola, the lead risk and reliability expert on NASA's Exploration Systems Architecture Study (ESAS), was recently awarded the space agency’s Public Service Medal for his “extraordinary effort†as part of the study. The ESAS team evaluated development options, including the Crew Exploration Vehicle design (NASA's space shuttle replacement), which would return Americans to the Moon, and on to Mars. Mr. Fragola, Vice President of Valador, Inc. – a Herndon, VA-based management consultancy – organized estimates of risk and reliability for the 90 day agency-wide study completed last July. An internationally renowned risk expert, he is a previous recipient of NASA’s prestigious Silver Snoopy award for his efforts to improve safety and reliability.
